RADO DESIGNER WATCHES
Globally recognised brand RADO and CEO Matthias Breschan unveiled an exclusive series of limited edition designer timepieces during the Dubai Design Week 2018.
Rado is famous for innovative design and its use of revolutionary materials to create some of the world’s most durable watches. Ever since its beginnings in Lengnau, Switzerland, Rado has had a pioneering spirit, with the brand philosophy “if we can imagine it, we can make it” still holding true today.
Dubai Design Week is the region’s largest creative festival, reflecting Dubai’s position as design capital of the Middle East. Below are some of the creations Rado released exclusively during the annual event that took place at the hub location of Dubai Design District.
Rado True Thinline Studs Limited Edition
Rado has worked with award-winning British designer Bethan Gray to bring luxurious materials and intriguing elements to the brand’s slimmest watch. Rado has worked with Bethan Gray to combine her flair for materials and eye for details with the revolutionary design of the True Thinline family.
Taking inspiration from her furniture and textile designs, the limited edition True Thinline Studs features a shimmering grey marquetry pattern dial, echoing the look of Gray’s unique creations.
The Rado True Face
The Rado True Face, co-created with innovative Polish architect Oskar Zieta, is a limited edition timepiece that combines Zieta’s signature reflective surfaces with the classic design and high-tech construction of the Rado True family.
The Rado True Face is housed in matt grey high-tech ceramic, lending the timepiece versatile beauty and impressive scratch resistance in a lightweight package. The satin-finish neutral tone of the case and bracelet form a harmonious contrast with the centrepiece of the watch: the high-gloss metallic dial.
The Rado True Stratum
Rado True Stratum, jointly developed with leading Austrian designer Rainer Mutsch. This exclusive timepiece sees Mutsch’s trademark style housed inside Rado’s popular True watch family.
The black dial features delicate, asymmetrically arranged descending steps that emphasize the three dimensionality of the concave surface. Together with a slightly raised, oblong logo plate, these elements impart texture to what would otherwise be a plain monochrome dial. Matt rhodium hour and minute hands and a yellow second hand provide a pop of colour as well as easy readability.
