FORTNUM & MASON Tea-flavoured Sundae
FORTNUM & MASON UNVEILS AFTERNOON TEA, IN ICE-CREAM FORM
Fortnum’s introduces new Afternoon Tea-flavoured Sundae
Fortnum & Mason, Dubai has introduced the all-new Afternoon Tea Sundae, an inspired twist on the iconic Knickerbocker Glory made with a new blend of scrumptious tea-inspired ice-creams.
Perfect for sunny day dining, the Afternoon Tea Sundae mimics the mix of sweet and savory delight found in a traditional Afternoon tea, featuring ice cream flavors of Rose Ripple, Cucumber and Mint, Strawberry and Scones and Coronation – a unique sorbet inspired by the famous sandwich of the same name. Minus the chicken, of course.
To make this exceptional creation, a drizzle of Afternoon Blend Tea Syrup is added to the bottom of a classic sundae glass, followed by cucumber ribbons and the Cucumber & Mint sorbet – made with fresh cucumber juice infused with mint to reflect the taste of the traditional delicate cucumber sandwiches.
Next, as scones are traditionally the middle course between sandwiches and patisserie, the Strawberry and Scones ice cream is served with a strawberry ripple flavor packed with generous chunks of Fortnum’s own handmade scones, complete with slices of fresh strawberries, before a surprise sprinkling of popping candy is added.
Finally, Rose Ripple ice cream is then scooped on top, to represent the patisserie tier of a Fortnum’s Afternoon Tea. The sundae is then topped with Italian meringue, glazed by blow torch, and decorated with half a rose éclair and half a scone with jam and clotted cream.
Served in a mini cone on the accompanying saucer comes the Coronation flavor – the most experimental and surprising of all the ice creams, it is produced with mayonnaise, spicy paprika, curry powder and mustard, all offset by a sweet citrus zing of lemon and lime juices and mango puree. It is a surprise hit of heat in contrast to the sweetness of the other flavors.
The Afternoon Tea Ice Cream Sundae is 130 AED, available exclusively at The Parlour, Fortnum & Mason Dubai.
