Carter’s – Wafi Dubai
One of the first gastropubs to open in Dubai in early 1998, Carter’s offers the best casual pub dining option in what is now relatively old Dubai. Located at Pyramids, Wafi Carter’s is a place where one instantly connects, where you slip into a cozy yet lively mood sustained by a new in-house band, Feti Blue & the Blues Train playing weekly from Tuesday through to Saturday. Playing a mix of blues, rock, disco and funk, the dense atmosphere of the gastropub gets more animated as the band starts to play.
A lively venue exuding colonial charm, Carter’s presents a delicious international menu including English favorites and gourmet delights in a relaxed and informal environment. The diners can enjoy a menu that is really delectable and far superior to the usual bar food. The menu is wide and varied, with decent international fare and a good range of appetizers breaking up the boring pub classics. Including scrumptious savory specialties like stilton blue cheese and oven roasted beetroot salad, chargrilled miso-soya marinated chicken & vegetable skewers, beef tomahawk and lamb shepherd’s pie with mushrooms, the meal wouldn’t be complete without something sweet, especially the deliciously sticky toffee ice-cream & cake dessert.
Divided into three indoor portions, the side areas with comfortable seating are for diners who wish to focus more on their friends and their food, while the middle area is the dedicated bar area. The outdoor terrace is also a comfortable dining option, ideal for those looking for fresh air, particularly when the weather is great.
Al Fresco dining plus Carter’s Carvery Brunch every Friday is a true highlight.
