TRUCKERS DXB, Emirate Golf Club – Review
It is no wonder that beautiful weather brings people out. In Dubai, a good weather means no more sweltering summer sun or bouts of excruciating humidity. It is all about the slightly chilly desert nights with the soft breeze, subtly cloudy with a chance of rain.
As soon as the November sun rises, our lovely desert city starts to hum a different tune, inviting all who have been tucked inside the concrete jungle to the outside. From sandy deserts to all the lovely greens in the city people swarm the outside like the inside and there’s a definite sense of merriment in the air.
Just in time for the lovely weather when people start to look a place to unwind, Truckers DXB is driving around the Emirates and not just serving delicious meals but bringing a lovely concept of letting loose, enjoying the weather and just flowing with the groovy vibes.
With 12 homegrown food trucks serving freshly made food, Truckers Dxb is a delightful concept for the nature-deprived residents, usually restrained by the weather from all the outdoor activities. It offers a place to eat, breathe, relax and unwind in natural surroundings and the lovely outdoors.
We unraveled the experience at the Emirates Golf Club, which turned out to be four really cool hours of relaxing with the family and having a really good time. The venue was tastefully designed with the food trucks parked in a semi-circle a truck serving as the center stage in the middle, where live music entertained everyone. Next, to the entrance, a huge play area was dedicated to the little monkies.
As soon as you enter the venue you are given a card which you can refill with cash (at the four credit points within the arena) and can then use the same at all the food trucks. There were plenty of stalls selling toys and craft that you can buy on cash.
Since the basic idea revolves around the food trucks, it was no surprise to see a number of interesting culinary ideas presented to the crowd. We tried a number of food offerings from various trucks and were taken away by their ingenuity and flavors. On the topic of inventiveness what really blew us away from the food truck by the name of Bolly DXB, the truck offered a different take on burgers and fries, bringing Indian cultural flavors to a fusion platform. The butter chicken slider and Idli fries were totally unique and promised a new chapter in Indian cuisine.
Another food truck that was not just exciting but delicious and healthy too, ‘Wokinaki‘ offered pan Asian flavors serving a variety of noodles and rice. The taste was at par with any diner and the serving was ample. Another food truck which was much appreciated by the kids was “Kono Pizza“, literally serving pizza shaped as an ice cream cone. At first, it seemed a little too small but it is the contrary of that, pretty filling and delicious. The venue also served Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along with Shisha, which seemed like a big hit with the younger crowd.
Overall the experience was one of a kind, unlike the typical consumer-driven mall as well as shopping events, it was way more focused on unwinding, getting to know people, spending quality times with the family and friends and just letting loose. In a nutshell, it is the place to check out now as the weather is great and there’s no reason to stay inside.
You can visit Truckers DXB in Emirates Golf Club and Abu Dhabi Golf Club, Ibn Battuta, Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. The group will also be present at Abu Dhabi Food Festival, a city-wide gastronomic feast organized by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture.
