Free signature dishes, free movies, and first-ever outdoor events at Majid Al Futtaim shopping malls this Dubai Food Festival

Our city of lights sparkles with exuberance as the mercury takes a dip and the open-air invites everyone outside. The always energetic city, Dubai offers tons of activities and entertainment to its residents and tourists. One such event is Dubai Food Festival, an event dedicated to all the ultimate foodie fix. 

In celebration of Dubai Food Festival, from Feb 22 to March 10, 2018, Al Futtaim—the leading shopping mall, communities, retail, and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia has unveiled an exciting array of innovative gastronomic experiences for visitors of all ages. The highly anticipated food extravaganza—renowned for its diverse cuisine and world-class entertainment—will feature events at City Centre Mirdif and City Centre Me’aisem, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira.

City Centre Mirdif and City Centre Me’aisem is hosting their first open-air community event: “Outdoors by City Centre”. In line with Majid Al Futtaim’s mission to deliver innovative sensory experiences, the event features a temporary garden, complete with picnic tables, beanbags, lighting and greenery. Visitors can enjoy international cuisine from the venues’ food stalls and food trucks while watching movies under the stars at the open-air theatre.

The community events also offer live music in a variety of genres performed by some of the emirate’s most talented musical acts. Little ones will be kept entertained with skill, redemption and video games at the pop-up Magic Planet amusement zone. Visitors to City Centre Me’aisem can also bring their pets along to be pampered at the mobile grooming parlor.

“Outdoors by City Centre” is taking place from Feb 22 to March 10, is open to everyone and entrance is free. Outdoors by City Centre Mirdif is open from 4 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to midnight on weekends.  Outdoors by City Centre Me’aisem is open from 4 pm to midnight on weekdays and from 10 am to midnight on Weekends.

City Centre Mirdif shoppers also have the chance to win a whopping AED 5,000 daily, while City Centre Me’aisem’s, in collaboration with Dubai Shopping Malls Group, offers a chance to win a “Nissan Kicks Car” when spending AED 50 or more at the mall.

Families and friends visiting City Centre Deira are also invited to show off their culinary skills at the malls’ first-of-its-kind digital kitchen. Surrounded by touch screens featuring kitchen appliances, participants will cook in a virtual gaming environment but will still be able to smell the aroma of their creations!  Prizes worth AED 2,000 is up for grabs each day from Feb 22 to March 10. In addition, diners who spend AED 150 at City Centre Deira and present their receipt at the customer service desk will automatically get a free movie ticket.

Visitors of Mall of the Emirates who dine in any of the mall’s restaurants can bring their receipts to the customer service desk and get a FOODIE TICKET. From Feb 22 to March 10, the FOODIE TICKET offers shoppers discounted dishes across the mall’s participating restaurants. Those sharing their experience on social media will get a chance to win AED 1,000 daily. Shoppers spending 350 AED or more at the mall will get a chance to win AED 5,000 daily, while those who spend at any F&B outlets will get double the chances of winning.

Dining at any of the 95 F&B destinations at Mall of the Emirates can also turn into a very rewarding experience, as visitors will be able to participate in exciting digital games. Those who are able to recognize and identify some of the mall’s restaurants’ famous dishes will win instant dining vouchers.
