Mother’s Day celebration at Manzil Downtown
To honor mothers across the world, Manzil Downtown Hotel Dubai ushered in Mother’s Day in UAE by hosting a cozy event at the hotel’s signature restaurant Boulevard Kitchen in the presence of the Head Chef Salvatore Barcellona and his mother who flew all the way from Italy to celebrate the mother’s day in Dubai, and a number of food and mommy bloggers. The event featured cooking master class by Chef Salvatore Barcellona’s mother who taught how to cook Lasagne the real Italian way. A set menu of delicious Italian fare was served to the guests present at the event for the celebrations.
The delectable Mother’s Day menu divulged Chef Salvatore Barcellona’s culinary forte, with gourmet dishes that reflected his Italian background. The starter included Fava Bean Soup, with a subtle Middle Eastern flavor of the lentil soup, along with stracciatelle of burrata, finger-licking good Eggplant Rolls stuffed with buffalo ricotta cheese served on basil pesto and sundried tomato, for the main course the Italian favourite Homemade baked Lasagna, the very comforting Potato’s gnocchi, and juicy Veal Scaloppini served with beef bresaola with lemon butter sauce. Last but never the least for dessert Sicilian Cannoli stuffed with sweet ricotta cheese and chocolate brought the perfect end to the evening.
The event was also the perfect occasion for mothers to unwind and relax while a dedicated kids area kept the little ones busy. It also promulgated Chef Salvatore Barcellona’s strength as he capered with traditional Italian flavors with a modern finesse and there’s definitely a lot more to expect in the upcoming Ramadan Season.
