Maison Des Fleurs
Homegrown Brands Maison Des Fleurs Collaborates with French Calligraphy Artist eL Seed for Limited Edition Boxes. 50% of sales will be donated to Al Jalila Foundation.
To commemorate 2017 as the Year of Giving as announced by UAE’s President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan early this year, homegrown luxury floral brand, Maison Des Fleurs has joined forces with the super talented Dubai-based artist eL Seed to unveil a limited-edition flower box designed with his unique calligraphy style.
50% of the revenue generated from the sales of these boxes will be donated to Dubai-based globally renowned initiative Al Jalila Foundation, towards treating children with life-threatening illnesses and local research into better treatment options to improve children’s lives. On behalf of this unique partnership, eL Seed has incorporated a striking design for the box with an Arabic message which translates to ‘Happiness comes to those who believe in it’ on a limited edition round black Maison Des Fleurs box.
As a firm believer in giving back to society, Priya Jelly, Founder at Maison Des Fleurs believes there is nothing more empowering than helping make the world a better place, even if it means by giving flowers; a small gesture that goes a long way.
She describes, “Flowers are the ultimate symbol of happiness; they instantly bring a smile to our faces. Giving back has been on my mind for a while and what better time than now to celebrate the Year of Giving. Having seen eL Seed’s work and his dedication and ethos in creating unique art, it was an easy decision of partnering with him for the limited edition boxes.”
Talking about Al Jalila Foundation as the chosen cause for the proceeds, Priya adds: “Helping a cause close to my heart, Al Jalila Foundation, which is a philanthropic initiative dedicated to transforming lives through medical education and research, a synergy instantly struck when thinking of how our boxes could help create better future for others. All three parties involved in this campaign are homegrown in the region and for the region, and that’s what makes this more special.”
For eL Seed, the collaboration with Maison Des Fleurs was a perfect fit with what he believes. He says, “As soon as I knew all proceeds generated by this collaboration would be shared with Al Jalila Foundation, I knew I had to do it. I believe we all have a collective responsibility regarding future generations and every individual should contribute to a cause close to his or her heart. I was immediately onboard with this collaboration with Maison Des Fleurs as I have a personal connection to flowers and roses because for me they symbolize love and beauty. As a resident of the UAE, it is extremely important for me to partake in local endeavors.”
“Al Jalila Foundation is delighted to be the charity benefactor of this unique collaboration between Maison Des Fleurs and eL Seed in aid of children’s medical treatment and research. We are encouraged to see the community pull together in the ‘Year of Giving’ to support homegrown nonprofit organizations and we are honored to work together to transform lives,” states Dr. Abdulkareem Sultan Al Olama, Chief Executive Officer, Al Jalila Foundation.
