Khyber Indian restaurant at DUKES Dubai
Award-winning Indian restaurant and celebrity favorite, Khyber, has mesmerized patrons in India and from around the world. The restaurant boasts age old tried and tested Indian recipes that have been passed on from one generation to another. Launched in 1958 the restaurant has officially opened it’s first and the only branch outside India at the iconic Palm Dubai, located on the 15th floor of the Dukes Dubai hotel, giving a 180-degree view that takes in Burj Al Arab and the Dubai Marina skyline.
Taking inspiration from its north Indian roots, the fine dining venue combines a mixture of fresh and exciting dishes with classic favorites to offer a new tasting experience for diners. The restaurant recently organized a cooking masterclass to highlight the art of preparing traditional Indian fare. The masterclass aimed to enlightened everyone with the simplicity of preparation and intricacy of flavors in Indian cuisine.
Khyber at Dukes Dubai has also launched first of its kind the Thali tasting concept that offers diners the chance to sample a wide variety of popular starters, main courses, and desserts from the a la carte menu. The non-vegetarian option is priced at AED 195 per person, while the vegetarian menu is priced at AED 150 per person.
The menu has also been revamped menu and now include many delicious dishes. Signature highlights include Tandoori Raan, a tender leg of baby lamb, seasoned with Khyber spiced marinade and cooked in a clay oven; Reshmi Prawn, succulent prawns marinated with fragrant spices and cooked in the tandoor; or why not sample our Vegetable Biryani which consists of basmati rice, vegetable curry, saffron, rosewater and nuts. To finish off your meal with a sweet treat Rasmalai, sweet dumplings of cottage cheese served in sweetened flavored milk, garnished with pistachio and almonds and Gajar Ka Halwa, a Punjabi dessert made of grated carrots, almonds, raisins slow cooked in sweetened milk and flavored with mawa is a perfect compliment to the savory menu.

Just in time before Ramadan, we will be sharing delicious recipes from Khyber’s kitchen, and here’s one to start with…
- Rice 1 Cup
- Milk 1 L
- Sugar 3/4 Cup
- Pistachios Sliced 8-10 Pcs
- Almond Slice 4–6 Pcs
- Green Cardamom 4 Pcs
- Step 1
Soak rice in water for half an hour. Drain and grind to a coarse paste. Dilute rice pastes with half a cup of water.
- Step 2
Heat milk with green cardamom and bring it to a boil. Gradually mix it in the rice paste, reduce heat and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes, stir it continuously or until the milk thickens well.
- Step 3
Add sugar and continue to boil until sugar dissolves and combined well. Remove from heat.
- Step 4
Pour the mixture in individual ceramic bowls, garnish with sliced pistachios, almonds and serve chilled.
