Hisense at 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ – Interview
Hisense, one of China’s largest consumer electronics companies is also the Official Sponsor of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™. Ahead of the most awaited games, the technology giant is offering various offers and promotions for its customers in the UAE. As part of the promotions, Hisense offers buyers a chance to win tickets to the World Cup games, including 4 x fully paid trips for the semi-final matches in the mega raffle. In addition, buyers can also win a top of the range 55/& 65” ULED TVs that offer an immersive viewing experience.
We spoke to Porus Sheriar – General Manager for Television & Home Appliances at Hisense Middle East FZE, and learned more about the Fifa madness, the ongoing competition and the brand in general.
Q: Tell us about the Fifa – Hisense relationship, what’s done so far, what’s planned and what is expected in the future?
Porus Sheriar: Hisense and FIFA relationship is quite strategic, we engaged with FIFA during the last edition of EURO Cup i.e. 2016 edition and now we are sponsoring FIFA W/C, definitely our Euro cup experience was exceptional, based on that we decided to continue this relationship and extend it to FIFA W/C 2018. We are very confident that with this sponsorship, Hisense will improve its global brand image and awareness about its wide and technically advanced products. Leveraging this relationship, we are giving exclusive FIFA tickets through the in-store promotion, social media and radio contests allowing consumers a chance to relive the FIFA fever through Hisense.
Q: How are Hisense TV better than its counterparts available in the market?

Q: What TV screens are to be used at the Fifa 2018?
Porus Sheriar: As of now the product to be displayed at FIFA match locations are not yet finalized.
Q: What can one do to participate in the promotion?
Porus Sheriar: You just have to buy a Hisense TV to participate in the raffle. The promotion is valid from 1st Apr to 31st May.
Q: How many entries did you receive in total for the promotions?
Porus Sheriar: With any purchase of Hisense TV product worth AED 1,500 the customer will get one coupon for promotion entry. We yet can’t confirm the figure since the promotion is still ongoing, however till now approximately around 950-1000 entries.
Q: How would the winners be selected, what is the procedure?
Porus Sheriar: The winners are selected by online raffle draw as per Economic department guidelines. After the purchase of the products the consumer will get a coupon with QR code and unique number, then the consumer has to visit a microsite to register the coupon and on successfully entering all data he will be qualified for a weekly draw as well as Mega Draw which is at the end of the promotion period. Alternatively, on social media, we ran FIFA based contests- Incredible Stunt Challenge & Trivia Challenge. Radio- Channel 4 network we ran a Fifanatic contest for 1 month across English, Arabic & Hindi channels.
Q: Do you already have winner names that are selected, how can one take advantage of the remaining offers?
Porus Sheriar: There are weekly draws for 8 weeks as well as the Mega draw at the end of the promotion. The consumer can buy Hisense TV now and will be qualified for dual raffle i.e. Weekly draw as well as Mega Draw. Radio contest winners are already selected and social media contests are still running until 31st May.
